Why Give?

From a practical perspective, your contributions enable the church to offer all the elements that help the congregation as a whole, and all the individual members of the church, to thrive.

From a spiritual perspective, your giving is a powerful example of the faith and trust you have in God. It is a physical demonstration of the belief in the promise that God loves you and provides for you. It also forges a deeper connection to God that is evident when you sacrifice money — something of tangible value — to support the spiritual value we get through a close relationship with God.

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Other Giving Options

Some people prefer to put their money in the collection plate, others have an ACH set up from their bank, still others donate online. Our congregation uses Breeze, making it simple to set up automated giving as well.

To give your offering directly: 

  • Place your offering by check or cash in the offering plate as it is passed during worship, or give your offering to an usher.  Offering envelopes are available in the narthex & church lobby.  It is helpful for cash gifts to be in envelopes labeled with your name.
  • Mail your offering check to WUMC Financial Secretary, Woodbury United Methodist Church, 4 Church St., Woodbury, CT  06798.  WUMC has a locked mailbox.
  • Some banks offer bill pay & checks by mail services for account holders in which the financial service mails a check to WUMC.  Use the address listed above.
  • WUMC does not incur fees with direct giving.

To give online, choose one of these options:

  • Enter your gift amount, fund designation & payment information directly in the Giving App on this page found under “Give Online“.
  • Click the Connect to Breeze button – log into your Breeze Account – Go to “More Tab” – ->Use down arrow & select “Give Now” –> Enter your payment info into the “app”.
  • Enter woodburyumc.breezechms.com into y-our browser for Breeze –> log into you Breeze account & follow the steps in the line above.
  • WUMC does incur fees for online contributions.
